We are looking for a part-time Chartered Town and Country Planner with experience in the public and/or private sectors to join our team based in Sherborne (Dorset) and Bath. You will be joining a busy firm, and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

AssetSphere is an independent property consultancy. We work with owners, occupiers, farmers, landowners, corporate and PLC companies, as well as the public sector to help them get the most from their property assets.

Established in 2000, we now have a small multi-skilled team covering estate management, utilities, environment, project management, architecture, planning and surveying.

The Chartered Town Planner role

We are looking for a part-time Chartered Town Planner to join our team based in Sherborne (Dorset) and Bath. You will have experience in the public and/or private sectors including managing projects from initial conception through to successful conclusion, securing and negotiating planning consents, and engaging directly with clients.

Hours are negotiable.

Responsibilities

  • Managing rural planning projects from initial concept to conclusion
  • Assisting with new instructions, developing existing client relationships, and the opportunity to be involved with developing the business
  • Providing excellent client care
  • Meeting KPIs in respect of work in progress and hours into work
  • Developing the planning side of the business
  • Helping develop and mentor junior members of the team
  • Adhering to H&S procedures and promoting sustainable working methods

Your profile

  • Qualifications – Degree to BSC/BA, MRTPI
  • Experience in planning, if possible both in public and private sectors
  • Ability to work alone, use initiative and within a team
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, self-motivated, highly organised
  • Strong verbal, client-facing and presentation skills
  • Strong numerical skills, IT skills, excellent report writing and grammar
